eat.st is committed to providing services that are helpful to all our users, and this includes providing an accessible website.
We have built our pages to be compatible with adaptive technologies used by disabled people, and we ensure that hyperlinks clearly describe where they go.
eat.st has attempted to comply specifically with:
Priority 1 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and where possible, Priority 2 guidelines. The elements covered by the Priority 3 guidelines are not, in most cases used by our site, however as the site develops such functions we will aim to be compliant at this level.
We are committed to a process of on-going improvement and are working to ensure all older content is made compliant with the provisions of the DDA and that all new content is developed under the guidelines outlined above.
Guidance on using this website
Changing your settings for Internet Explorer on a PC
Font size
Select the 'Tools' menu within your Internet Explorer browser.
Select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu.
Click on the 'General' tab.
Click on the 'Accessibility?' button.
To change your font size, check the box marked 'Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages'
Click on the 'OK' button on this tab and then on the 'OK' button on the Internet Options tab.
Select the 'View' menu within your Internet Explorer browser.
Select 'Text Size' from the menu, another menu listing possible sizes will appear. Select the option that you require.
Font style
Select the 'Tools' menu within your Internet Explorer browser.
Select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu.
Click on the 'General' tab.
Click on the 'Fonts?' button.
Change your font using the 'Web page font' drop down.
Click on the 'OK' button on this tab and then on the 'OK' button on the Internet Options tab.
Font and background colour
Select the 'Tools' menu within your Internet Explorer browser.
Select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu.
Click on the 'General' tab.
Click on the 'Colours?' button.
Check the box next to 'Use Windows colours', allowing you access to change the colours yourself.
Select your own Text, Background and link colours from those available.
Click on the 'OK' button on this tab and then on the 'OK' button on the Internet Options tab.
Page structure
Each page on our website includes a clear heading. Any consequent headings are introduced in a structured hierarchy, and are clearly marked up using 'h1' and 'h2' tags etc.
Visual design
This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.
If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
Links
We try to ensure that link text makes sense out of context and that it accurately describes the pages it points to. You can use the tab key on your keyboard (as well as your mouse) to move consecutively from link to link.
Images
A description of every image is provided, either in the alt tag or on the page itself.
All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.
Complex images include TITLE attributes or inline descriptions to explain the significance of each image to non-visual readers.
